Neon Cost Performance

Autosuspend timeout > 1 h on non-prod branch

Part of the Idle compute cost check · fix arrives as a guide

What it is

A non-production branch has an autosuspend timeout longer than an hour.

Why it matters

Development and preview branches are idle most of the time. An hour of paid compute after each brief connection means a handful of daily check-ins keeps the endpoint running for much of the day.

How to fix it

Reduce the timeout on non-production branches to five minutes or less. The occasional cold start on a development database is not something anyone will notice.
