Supabase Releases Security & compliance Stability

Out-of-date Postgres

Part of the Database DR & network check

What it is

The project runs a Postgres major version that is behind the current supported release.

Why it matters

Older majors stop receiving fixes, including security ones, while continuing to run perfectly well — so nothing prompts an upgrade. The longer it slips, the larger and riskier the eventual jump.

How to fix it

Plan an upgrade through the Supabase dashboard, testing on a branch or a restored copy first. Upgrading one major at a time is considerably less disruptive than deferring several.
